Epoch Films has added award-winning comedy director Ric Cantor to their UK roster. Epoch will represent Cantor in the UK, Amsterdam, Ireland, and Asia.

Based in London and Los Angeles, Cantor grew his career writing and directing sketch show comedies and features (Man Stroke Woman, Suzie Gold, Da Ali G Show). His work mines the rich seam of awkwardness in everyday life, and he brings a deft touch to the performances his actors deliver.

Cantor has won a plethora of awards for his commercial work (Gold Lion in Cannes, British Arrows, D&AD) and frequently shoots commercial campaigns for brands including BMW, Dodge Ram, Dos Equis, Mars, Specsavers, McDonald’s, Orbit, AARP, IKEA, and the New Zealand Transport Agency.

In addition to his directing career, Cantor is a board member of ManifestWorks, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to disrupting intergenerational cycles of poverty by providing career training and industry connections to people from underserved communities pursuing careers in entertainment.

Ric Cantor said, “Epoch is comedy royalty; simple as that. They do the work I’ve always loved to do, so I couldn’t be happier to get on board.”

Jacki Calleiro, Epoch Films' UK-based Executive Producer, adds, “Ric brings irreverent humor to his incredible cinematic vocabulary, which makes for an unforgettable commercial every single time. We’ve been fans of his work for a while now—his sense of humor is quintessentially British, and we’re honored to represent him on his home turf.”

Cantor is the newest addition to Epoch's UK roster, now represented across the UK and Europe by top London Production house Knucklehead.
