Created by adam&eveDDB and brought to life by Partizan director Tobias Fouracre, this sweet seasonal spot from home food brand Dr Oetker leans into the wonder of a holiday tradition with a cheeky twist.
The ad introduces a freshly baked protagonist who wakes up in a snow-dusted landscape, lovingly crafted entirely from Dr. Oetker’s baking decorations, sprinkles, icings, and edible glitter.
The rug is playfully pulled when the film cuts to a live action scene of a young girl and her grandma building a gingerbread house together, and she happily chomps poor Ginger’s head off.
Fouracre added: “I’ve always wanted to direct a stop-motion Christmas commercial, so it's not an exaggeration to say that this was a dream come true. I’m not a great fan of sentimentality though… so this Christmas ad, with a sting in its tail, ticked both boxes.”
