Denim announce the addition of Parker Schmidt to its Canadian roster.

Blending raw energy with a refined cinematic eye, Schmidt transforms everyday moments into powerful visual stories across automotive, fashion, and sports.

Based in Los Angeles, his path to filmmaking has been anything but conventional. A former professional downhill skateboarder who competed internationally, Schmidt later studied art and design in Berlin and nurtured a wide range of passions -from surfing and running to baking and ceramics. This adventurous spirit carries through every project he takes on, infusing his work with a sense of excitement, precision, and craft.

“Parker’s work shows a maturity that’s hard to find in a young director,” said Cameron Frengopoulos, Executive Producer at Denim. “You can already feel a distinct voice in his work. It’s dramatic, captivating, and textured. We’re excited to bring that voice to Canada and continue building together.”

“There’s always someone doing more with less, that someone is Denim,” added Schmidt. “A corral of the most admirable creatives and crew I’ve ever come to see. Resilient to any condition brought upon them, they always elevate creative opportunity beyond what seems possible. With this thoughtful ethos close to their heart and mine, I couldn’t be anymore grateful to rally along their mission.”

Schmidt’s work has been recognised by the One Club, Vimeo Staff Pick, shots Americas Awards, YDA’s, ADC Awards, Berlin Commercial Awards, and the Santa Monica International Film Awards, as well as featured in international festival selections including Tokyo Shorts, Brussels International Film Festival, Portuguese Surf Film Festival, Sport Film Festival Rotterdam, and the Los Angeles Cinematography Awards.
