Cut+Run promotes Mitch Goldberg to editor
The Melbourne-born storyteller brings humour, heart, and sharp narrative instinct to the LA roster.
Award-winning editorial company Cut+Run has announced the promotion of Mitch Goldberg to editor, transitioning from his previous role as assistant editor.
Born in Melbourne and now based in Los Angeles, Goldberg has quickly gained a reputation for his collaborative spirit, creative vision, and distinctive flair for both comedy and character-driven work.
Goldberg began his editorial journey in Australia at The Butchery before moving to New York to join Exile Edit. From there, he landed at Cut+Run’s LA office, where his natural storytelling abilities and keen comedic timing shone through across a variety of standout projects.
His work has included collaborations with the company’s acclaimed roster, notably on high-profile campaigns like Corona Extra featuring Pedro Pascal (edited by Cut+Run’s Frank Effron) and the hilariously offbeat Got Milk Got Wood campaign starring Aubrey Plaza. Goldberg’s narrative sensibility also extends to his short film projects, many of which have been showcased at MIFF and international festivals.
“When I first met Amburr Farls and Steve Gandolfi, I was struck by their warmth,” said Goldberg. “Obviously, the talent on the roster was a huge draw, but I’ve received opportunities in spades working at Cut+Run. I’m grateful to be part of a company that puts its people first and absolutely honoured to now be a rostered editor.”
“Mitch has worked incredibly hard, exceeded every expectation, and met every challenge with eagerness, enthusiasm, and a true dedication to the craft,” added Amburr Farls, Managing Partner at Cut+Run. “He’s also comedy gold. I mean, have you seen his press photo? Heaps good, mate!” (delivered in best Aussie accent)
From heartfelt narratives to punchy comedic work, Mitch Goldberg’s evolution at Cut+Run reflects not just his technical prowess but also his deep understanding of rhythm, timing, and tone, cementing him as a valuable creative voice within the editorial house’s global team.
