Curate Films have signed features director Greg Mottola to the company.
Mottola is best known for his comedy portfolio of work headed by the cult pubescent film Superbad. More recently, he has directed the feature films Confess, Fletch, Adventureland, and Paul.
Confess, Fletch which he delivered in 2022 was co-written by himself and Bev Borow. Adventureland is a "first love" story about a group of college-age kids working at an amusement park in the 1980s. The film starred Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. It premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and received critical praise.
He also directed Paul, a science fiction/comedy film about two comic book nerds (played by the film's screenwriters Simon Pegg and Nick Frost) who meet an alien named Paul while vacationing in the US.
“Greg’s talent is obvious, his films over the last 10 years have been comedy gold. His cult film Superbad is the stuff of legend (according to my son) and we are incredibly humbled that he wanted to join us at Curate. The way we are doing things here attracted Greg to the company, he loves the Writing/Execution model that we have pushed at Curate. Who wouldn’t want a Greg Mottola written and directed commercial?” said Dan Dickenson.
