If you're of a similar vintage to shots and its ageing editors, you may well remember a curious period of the 90s in which Irish dancing and its Riverdance showmanship kinda took over the world (at least the lower half).
Well, it looks like the hero of Chorus' new spot from McCann New Zealand, Go Clicker Than Ever, has kept that memory in place, as he uses remarkable jig skills and an oversized mouse to effortlessly win the internet.
Directed by Carl Sundemo through Scoundrel, the production took the wonderfully practical approach of giving our leaping legend puppeteered legs, allowing for some brilliantly odd physical positioning that sells both the story and surreality.

The campaign is the first work from McCann New Zealand since it was appointed Chorus' lead agency, bringing strategy, creative and media together under one roof.
“We wanted to make the speed and freedom of fibre feel tangible, rather than simply tell people that fibre is fast,” comments Gary Steele, Chief Creative Officer at McCann New Zealand. “Irish dance gave us an unexpected way to do that - taking something known for its incredible speed, precision and energy and putting it in the hands of an everyday Kiwi.
"It’s a simple idea, but one with the power to make fibre’s advantage feel immediate and memorable. And while the whole thing is a big metaphor, we welcomed the challenge of doing it for real. The dancing we achieved using various rigs and puppeteered legs – moulded off our hero’s, and the mice we made to scale, which believe it or not, do in fact work.”
