Director Mija Kembre of Some Films has unveiled this beautifully meditative campaign for chocolate makers Naive, titled Sense of Place.
In just over two minutes of intimate, black-and-white vignettes, Sense of Place sensitively captures the everyday running of the family-owned business, and its connection to the gorgeous natural landscaped of Lithuania, where the brand is rooted.
Kembre adds: “The concept behind this commercial was to embody a sense of place. My approach sought to let the viewer experience the dramaturgy through emotion rather than impose a narrative. The characters in the film are the very people who craft the chocolate. To truly feel their world, one must open up to the experience, as no rational approach can capture the entirety of what defines this place.”
