Celebrating 80 years together, Cathay Pacific has created a new documentary short produced by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions and electriclime°.

With the Hong Kong-based company set to hit the landmark this September, they have started marking the occasion with a heartfelt look back over the past eight decades.

The project is a journey through memory, meaning, and momentum, told through the voices of the people who built, served, flew, and chose Cathay Pacific, across generations.

A range of contributors tell the story of Cathay Pacific, including retired and present cabin crew and pilots, loyal customers, and back-office staff.

While the airline’s milestones form the backbone of the story, the heart of the documentary short is human: what Cathay has meant, and still means, to those closest to it.

Together, they explain how the company came from humble beginnings, before growing to help make Hong Kong a buzzing hub of trade and tourism within Asia.

And how, despite its changes through the years, its message of high-quality service has consistently remained and been at the forefront of its ‘Move Beyond’ brand.

The project sees a collaboration between BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions and electriclime°, with the filming taking place in Hong Kong.
