Director Dan Streit of Somesuch reunites with American rapper A$AP Rocky to deliver this mesmerising and disorienting promo for the artist’s track HELICOPTER.
The film drops us straight into a chaotic scene that feels like an early-2000s video game on acid. Fuelled by paranoia and sketchy street encounters that grow steadily more absurd, it transports us through the nocturnal chaos of a surreal city from the perspective of a circling helicopter.
Each bizarre vignette bleeds into the next like a nightmarish fever dream, with every detail painstakingly crafted from live-action performances that have been scanned, fractured and reassembled inside CG environments.
