Holidaying in space is no longer the stuff of dreams as Goodby, Silverstein & Partners has paved the way to make it reality in a new campaign for technology firm Cisco.

To promote Cisco Spark, a team messaging, video calling and interactive drawing service, space traveller Anousheh Ansari, space engineering research professor David Barnhart, hotel expert Brian Kelly and interior designer Nicole Hollis met in this documentary-inspired spot to discuss the possibility of creating a Space Hotel.

By bringing together their different skill sets, the team were able to create realistic plans for the building using technology available to us today.

You can take a virtual tour of the hotel, below, and explore its facilities, including the sleeping sack pods (pictured above) that overlook Earth, the dining area and the universe’s first zero-G swimming pool. Oh and an observation deck, aimed at enabling you to get a new perspective  and contemplate the universe.

While for some, the possibility of travelling to space – let alone holidaying there – seems completely mind-boggling, the team are confident that it’s not as unbelievable as it may currently sound.

“Late last year, both President Obama and Elon Musk announced plans for a trip to Mars, so this idea doesn’t seem that far-fetched,” says the agency’s associate partner/CD, Will Elliott. “Our new campaign shows how Cisco Spark helps teams turn big ideas, such as the galaxy’s first space hotel, into reality.”

Find out how they developed the idea in this BTS video below:

And if you’ve got an Earth-shattering idea that you can’t wait to start plotting, be sure to use Cisco Spark – as it could help to facilitate the process.
