Tis’ the season to be Corden… clearly, the actor-turned-TV host has been busy and in demand this season.

Having already starred in the Apple Music ad earlier this year, lent his voice to Sainsbury’s Christmas campaign, it may come as no surprise that credit card company Chase Sapphire has also decided to snap up Britain’s national treasure.

Spearheaded by Droga5 NY, Corden’s latest work sees him partake in a series of ads, entitled Reserve What’s Next. In the epsidoes helmed by David Gelb, Corden experiments with future trends; testing out a self-driving electric bus called Olli and leanring how to literally cook food in the earth.

The first episode – Fire and Ice with James Corden and Mads Refslund (below) – sees the pair predict what the future of cooking will look like. Chef Refslund dreams up fantastical dishes, like fish that's cooked in sand, to promote his recently-launched restaurant while Corden offers his newfound friend tips on dating.

The second spot – Mr Tennessee with James Corden and Local Motors Extended (below) – follows Corden as he uncovers the world of cognitive vehicles and questions whether or not they're really as excited as they sound. He then has a car made to measure for him, even fitted with a bespoke hand-shaped gear stick.

"Our cardholders are interested in what's next in the industry. They would have been the first people to try Airbnb five years ago, and the first to discover Uber," says Chase’ chief brand officer Susan Canavari. "We're showing them things that are launching in the very near term, so they can be one of the first to experience them."
