What website(s) do you use most regularly and why?

Blendle: the ‘iTunes of journalism’. It is where I read articles from all my favourite newspapers and magazines, paid on a per article basis. Blendle is created by a Dutch start-up that is rapidly taking over the world. They will launch in the English-speaking world in 2016, I believe.

What’s the most recent piece of tech that you’ve bought and why?

I’ve bought Intel’s Curie for our These Days/Wunderman lab in Antwerpen. We are thinking of developing a custom-made wearable for one of our clients.

Facebook or Twitter?

Both are dream destinations for procrastinators like me. For me it’s the choice between family, friends and colleagues or news, networking and opinion.

What’s your favourite app on your phone and why?

Google Maps. When I was on holiday in Vietnam this winter we rented scooters and could just get lost for hours. Google Maps helped us find hidden treasures, streams, fields, villages and our way home, eventually.

What’s your favourite TV show and why?

Deadwood, once upon a time in the West with more f*cks per minute than one can count. Another is the The Muppets. I’m still crushed about the divorce though.

What film do you think everyone should have seen?

Everything by David Cronenberg, with Videodrome and ExistenZ as the best of the best.

Where were you when inspiration last struck?

Talking to my husband; ideas evolve in interaction with others.

What’s the most significant change you’ve witnessed in the industry since you started working in it?

Seeing the diversity issues of our industry finally on the radar.

If there was one thing you could change about the advertising industry, what would it be?

Seeing those same issues transformed into action.

What or who has most influenced your career and why?

In truth my mum, because she made me fearless and unapologetic, filled with the belief I can do anything I set my mind to.

In our industry it would be Victor Knaap of MediaMonks; working with him I learned energy, chutzpah and unshakeable self-belief and that people around you can make anything happen.

Tell us one thing about yourself that most people won’t know.

I am a romantic at heart.
