It seems that VR is the buzzword on everybody's lips this year... so, it was only natural that it would take centre stage at the South by Southwest festival earlier this week.

Mediamonks partner Joris Pol documents the (virtual) realities of the interactive section of the festival, although he's sure to make time for networking, eating and dancing to Wu-Tang Clan. All in a day's work!

(Night before) 21.02: Touchdown in Austin! SXSW are you (V)Ready?

08.49: Coffee at Toms. Great place to start the day and send some emails before the Dutch call it a (mid)day.

09.32: This is how to Uber. Hummer H2 style. Apparently, the only one in America.

09.56: Walked passed this guy. Told you so, it's all about VR.

10.08: Breakfast. No really. When in Austin you go eat at Franks at least twice, even if you are only in for a day.

10.53: On our way to meet some clients for an early lunch (yes, more food). Sun’s out, shades out!

11.39: Showcasing some VR work, here we see Olivier Apers from BETC enjoying a beautiful French landscape.

13.36: Checking in at the Mashable house.

13.39: Exiting the Mashable house will have you follow the path to enlightenment. (Yes, the times are correct.)

13.48: NY Times was hosting a good afternoon session in the sun. We enjoyed some talks, table tennis, free booze and the guy who wasn’t really supposed to be there but enjoyed the free booze oh-so-much.

14.59: On Sunday, GSD&M throw one hell of an (insanely popular) party each year. We've got the team covered though, wristbands for all! Also celebrating our just-launched work with them. Salute!

15.22: Checking out the FastCompany Grill. Drinks and food on the house.

17.36: Catching up on emails with five (of 12) Monks, powering through as we have only a few hours to go back and forth with all of our offices.

19.04: Grabbing a table at the renowned Lonesome Dove restaurant with our friends from SMFB Oslo.

22.24: When I say Wu, you say Tang. Wu! Tang!
