A right royal celebration is in store for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after the couple today announced, through Clarence House, that they are expecting their second child.

The news has quickly swept the UK and the bets are on as to whether the pair, already parents to one-year-old Prince George, will have a boy or a girl.

With baby fever in the air, it seems only fitting that, for today’s My shots Monday, we take a look at some stand-out baby-themed spots. Get ready to coo at some cuteness and laugh at some adorable antics as we take you through five of our favourite campaigns.

In the womb

Created by Grey London for the British Heart Foundation, Baby marked the culmination of a six-year partnership between the agency and charity. The film uses CGI based on a mother’s ultrasound to 'film' a testimonial from an unborn baby in the womb. The commercial, made by digital production company Digital Domain and helmed by Chris Milk, was created to highlight the importance of urgent research into inherited heart conditions.

Who’s the boss?

An extremely articulate young businessman (or, more accurately, businessbaby) takes centre stage in in a number of spots for online broker E*TRADE. The hilarious character was first seen on shots in Baby demonstrating the brand’s online software before bringing up just a tiny bit of his lunch. Yuck!

The youngster made his final appearance in Baby Quits! making a stand and leaving his high-powered role after a feisty feline threatens to upstage him. The work was created by Grey London and then Ogilvy & Mather.

No doubt most of us heard fairy tale-like stories as kids about stalks or magical lands where babies grow on trees (only to be horrified later in life when we learnt the truth from a bunch of giggling older kids in the school playground). Directed by RSA's Jake Scott through David & Goliath, the ad puts a fun spin on a car commercial and gives parents a whole new inventive story to use on their little ones.

Car chase

It’s a case of baby versus hoover in this action packed spot for Samsung. James Rouse and Ed Robinson helm this high-speed commercial which resembles a car chase. The ad sees a fearless baby slap on a siren and embark on a mission to catch mum with the vacuum cleaner in an entertaining thrill ride. The work was created through The Viral Factory.

Live young

A baby-themed feature just wouldn’t be baby-themed feature without a mention of the epic Evian characters in a campaign created by BETC Paris.

The agency breathed new life into the water brand’s babies with some great moves and a touch of musical madness. Its first spot featured a selection of people taking part in a dance-off with a baby version of themselves while out and about in the city. Then, just as you though it couldn’t get any better, a second commercial aired ahead of a new Spider-Man movie which put the reflection of a

Baby & Me was crowned YouTube’s Most Popular UK Video Advert and racked up more than 92 million online hits, while Baby & Me 2 has totalled nearly 100,000 clicks.
