MindsEye announce the signing of Yousef Thami to its directing roster for UK representation.
Thami is an award-winning, contemporary VFX and performance director who creates mind-bending promos and commercials, described as “wonderfully weird”. Thami’s ability to merge magical realism, audacious comedy and VFX wizardry creates an idiosyncratic tone that is uniquely his. This distinctive approach has led to collaborations with major brands and artists.
His work for the likes of Old Spice, McDonald’s, Paloma Faith and the BBC, has collected numerous accolades such as the Young Director Award at the UKMVAs, a Webby Winner for Experimental & Weird and a Wood Pencil for Best Concept at the D&ADs.
Outside of the world of film, Thami is also a designer and art director, crafting visuals for major-label albums and single campaigns for the likes of SG Lewis, Michael Kiwanuka, Wretch 32, Dizzee Rascal, Devlin, Yizzy, Gregory Porter, and Sway.
Hughie Phillips, MindsEye MD, says “Yousef makes work that’s impossible to ignore. Loud, colourful, stylised and with a kick of VFX magic. Plus, how was I supposed to ignore Barry from Eastenders regurgitating a small version of himself?”
