Charli XCX has released the official music video for Wink Wink, directed by Aidan Zamiri and produced by Object & Animal.

The video marks the third collaboration between Zamiri and Charli XCX in quick succession, and the most deliberately playful of the three, trading the grit and chaos of Rock Music for something sunnier and more deadpan.

Where the previous videos leaned into black and white and urban destruction, Wink Wink opens in a field, Charli lying in the grass eating strawberries under a grey sky. From there, Zamiri builds the video around a single comic premise - Charli  going about a day of mundane domestic tasks, washing windows, doing laundry, cleaning dishes, each one escalating in ways that undercut her very sincere insistence that she's turned over a new leaf. It's a tighter, more contained piece than its predecessors, and sharper for it. The whole thing was conceived, shot and delivered in under a week.

The video continues Object & Animal's ongoing run of work with Zamiri, whose eye for performance and instinct for deadpan humour gives Wink Wink a lightness that sits in deliberate contrast to where this campaign started.
