Back to school is here! Sadness for kids and a small smile of relief on the faces of parents.

Now in the UK that means a new Supermarket own grey jumper, collared shirt and tie with a trousers or skirt.

But in the good ol’ US of A things are quite different……. and very ‘fashion forward’.

Director Ezra Hurwitz represented by Bold in the UK, takes us on a five minute, yes five minute choreographed musical trip through the endless nuance (options) of back to school America for those folks at Walmart.

A huge cast of child actors and dancers are expertly put through their paces by Hurwitz ticking off all the trends that make school USA unique. OMG what socks to wear with Crocs, how to navigate the drama that is Denim and what does OHIO actually mean…

Apart from an unlikely looking bus driver there’s not an adult in sight and the whole ensemble is lead by a girl with possibly the most cutie-pie voice in North America. The kids seem to like her though.

Keeping all the plates spinning is no mean feat and Hurwitz’s capacity for mastering jobs with many, many moving parts is showcased brilliantly here. All shot over the course of only three days with two cameras, big crew and enough talent to navigate around child working hours.
