Canada’s The Co-operators is putting its resilience promise through the wringer in a new campaign that favours prevention over repair, and does so with a strikingly physical piece of filmmaking.

Created by Angry Butterfly and directed by Ryan Gibb of Holiday Films, the work centres on the brand’s TomorrowStrong coverage, which aims to help homeowners mitigate damage before extreme weather hits.

Gibb leans into controlled chaos, staging the film inside a storm simulator where a real Co-operators financial advisor delivers her lines direct to camera while being battered by hurricane-force winds and driving rain. The juxtaposition is simple but effective: calm authority meeting full-force nature, captured with a sense of restraint that lets the performance and environment do the heavy lifting.

The result feels less like a traditional insurance spot and more like a visceral product demonstration – one grounded in craft and commitment, both in front of and behind the lens.

Production was handled by Nimble Content with post led by Recess Post, whose edit keeps the tension tight without losing clarity in the message. Audio was completed by Pirate Toronto.

The campaign is rolling out across Canada on CTV, digital and social.
