Sophia Ray Directs ‘Love Me Right’ Music Video For Amber Mark
The promo uses juxtaposing wide angles with close up portrait shots to highlight the dreamy imagery.
Partizan director Sophia Ray’s latest music video is a visual treat of colours, and features an ethereal Amber Mark seeking the respect she deserves from her lover. Sophia describes the track as ‘an ode to a love that once was, which has now fallen into complacency’.
‘I wanted to switch between hyper-real stylised scenes in which Amber is the star, with more realistic domestic scenes showing small snippets of their love/loathe story.’
These ‘hyper-real’ scenes are inspired by classic Renaissance art and religious iconography, imagining Amber as an empowered goddess and romantic heroine. The fantastical costumes and make up act as a visual representation of how she wants her man to see her. In one shot, immersed in a surreal pink liquid surrounded by flowers, she looks like a 21st century version of John Everett Millais’ Ophelia.
The promo "Love Me Right' is shot beautifully, juxtaposing wide angles with close up portrait shots to highlight the dreamy imagery.
