A new signing at Somesuch sees filmmaker and photographer Lou Escobar join the company’s roster for worldwide representation across film and stills.
Born in Paris to Spanish parents, Escobar began her career in photography, developing a style influenced by cinema and theatre. Her commercial photography includes Gucci’s campaign for the 1947 Bamboo handbag, as well as projects for Diesel, adidas, Nike and Coca-Cola. Editorial commissions have appeared in i-D, GQ, Vogue, Paper, Playboy and Metal Magazine.
Escobar’s move into directing grew from her stills practice, with projects including commercials for Espolòn Tequila and TK Maxx, and the short film Familia for Vogue Portugal.
