Saatchi & Saatchi's NDS Proves It's 'Just For Hits'

The Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors' Showcase is always one of the creative highlights of the Cannes International Festival of Creativity. Featuring a handful of fresh, exciting directors from around the world, the showcase is renowned for launching new talent, spotting innovative seeds and giving a boost to the imaginations of all attendees.

This year's showcase kicked off with an enlightening and interesting talk by renowned world-renowned British evolutionary biologist, Professor Richard Dawkins. Having created the term 'meme' in his million-copy bestseller The Selfish Gene, Professor Dawkins was well placed to talk the audience through the concept in a section named 'Just For Hits,' accompanied by outstanding visuals and attention-grabbing audio!

Following that were the films themselves, this year encompassing a number of different countries and styles. With more experimental and divisive works than ever, the showcase made for tough watching for some members of the audience. Highlights included Mustard's Ben Liam Jones' powerful Childline film 'It Follows Me Around,' GreatGuns' Ilya Naishuller eliciting shocked guffaws with 'Bad Motherfucker' and Max Joseph's 'Follow The Frog' proving a real crowd-pleaser.

The full list of films shown were:
