Saatchi & Saatchi taps award-winning rising stars
Saatchi & Saatchi adds Peniel Gebreselassie, Eleanor Weitzer, and Jacob Newton, three rising stars with award-winning work across global campaigns.
Agency Saatchi & Saatchi has strengthened its creative bench with the addition of Peniel Gebreselassie, Eleanor Weitzer, and Jacob Newton, three rising stars with award-winning work across global campaigns.
Gebreselassie and Weitzer arrive as a duo from McCann London, where they spent the last three years crafting social-first, human-centred creative. Their recent standout work includes Activision Blizzard’s Overwatch 2 campaign, which staged a real-time battle between human players and AI within the game, and Xbox’s Deadpool & Wolverine Cheeky Controller launch, which reached #1 on Reddit and won a Grand Clio.
Born in Ethiopia, Gebreselassie began her creative career in fashion design, while Weitzer cut her teeth as a fashion and festival photographer in North East England. Together, their work draws from diverse cultural experiences to bring new perspective to brand storytelling.
Newton joins Saatchi as a senior creative from DDB New Zealand. He was awarded a Gold Cannes PR Lion in 2021 for the groundbreaking Sperm Positive campaign for the New Zealand AIDS Foundation, the world’s first HIV-positive sperm bank, created to challenge stigma and educate the public on medical advances that make HIV non-transmissible. Newton was also part of the #2 Individual Creative Team of the Year at AWARD Australasia in 2024.
Franki Goodwin, Chief Creative Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi, commented: “We couldn’t be happier to have Pen, El, and Jacob join the team. Pen and El bring a creative energy and vision that’s impossible to ignore, and Jacob is a creative superstar. Collectively, they bring unique thinking, perspectives, and the kind of energy that pushes boundaries. We’re committed to recruiting the brightest and best creatives, and I can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make on the agency and our partners.”
