Relta directs new promo for sunsetto

Toronto-based singer, songwriter, and producer sunsetto reveals Plans, a synth-laden, hip hop and drum n’ bass-spiced song co-written with Nathan Ferraro (Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Carly Rae Jepsen) and produced by Ryan “Gray” Hawken (Justin Bieber, BEAM).

Plans recaps a former long-term relationship gone south with melodies and harmonies that are as hypnotic and sensual as sunsetto’s suave vocal delivery. Dispensing a heartbreaking yet hard-to-forget chorus (“We had plans / Two kids in a yard and a white picket fence”), the track sounds so intimate that it makes listeners feel as though they’re eavesdropping on a breakup convo (or reading sunsetto’s private texts). 

Plans smoldering lovelorn backstory is beautifully illustrated in the song’s video, directed by The Corner Shop's director Relta. The artist is mourning the painful death of shattered dreams in barren surroundings, reminiscent of one of sunsetto’s favourite topics: coming of age in a new age of love.
