Patramanis' Successful Return to Ad World

Production houses and creatives from advertising agencies are happy to have him back: Harry Patramanis, internationally well-known and highly-awarded director, is back in the advertising world!

And he's back with a new, refined style of directing his films.  People, very close, very natural, very authentic, very emotional – that's his new credo.

This is for sure also influenced by the project that kept him busy most of last year:  Patramanis shot his first full-length feature film, "Fynbos" that he directed and produced  together with his wife and partner, producer Eleni Asvesta, in South Africa through their production company ‚ A Four Letter Word.

"Fynbos" was made with a minimal crew (including DOP Dieter Deventer, and editor Yorgos Mavropsaridis) with an intimate 'family' approach to creative collaboration.

"I never shouted, 'Action!' and I never had to explain a scene," says Patramanis. "We were always in creative step on the story and the way to tell it. It was truly an amazing experience."

Looking at the new commercials he shot this year Patramanis succeeded in translating a lot of this feeling and atmosphere into his new commercial work.

His spot for EVGA ice cream portrays young people enjoying summer time – beautiful pictures, great moments, lots of emotion!

In his work for Johnnie Walker we see many different people walking – alone or with others – in the streets, at concerts – at night. The line  "Keep on walking. Greece" sums this up as a very emotional message at the end of the film.

The most provocative and eye-catching approach was used by Patramanis in his new film for Vodafone. In the spot called "Restart" a kiss is the cause for waking up and starting to spread the Vodafone virus.

Patramanis, a native Greek who grew up in Greece and Germany and started his career in the German market in the early 90s, is living between Athens and Los Angeles these days.

He  is represented exclusively by Company Films, LA  for the North American markets and by @view-finder International Director and DoP Agency  for the rest of the world.
