Park Pictures Salutes "Robot & Frank" On Both Coasts

Producers of the critically-acclaimed film host industry parties
in New York and L.A. to mark the picture's theatrical release.

"Robot & Frank," produced by Park Pictures, has been lauded by critics.

To celebrate the theatrical debut of Park Pictures feature film "Robot & Frank," directed by Jake Shreier, the New York and L.A.-based production company recently held screenings and after parties in both cities for the critically-acclaimed film.  Photos from the events appear below.

The picture, which was the Alfred P. Sloan Award winner at Sundance earlier this year, was released in the US by Samuel Goldwyn Films and Sony Pictures Worldwide.  It was produced by Park Pictures principals Jackie Kelman Bisbee, Lance Acord, Sam Bisbee and Galt Niederhoffer.  Oscar-nominated actor Frank Langella leads the film, appearing with a cast that includes James Marsden, Liv Tyler and Susan Sarandon.

Set in the near future, it's the story of Frank, a retired cat burglar, who has two adult children who are concerned that he can no longer live on his own. They're tempted to place him in a nursing home until Frank's son chooses a different option: against the old man's wishes, he buys Frank a walking, talking humanoid robot programmed to improve his physical and mental health. What follows is an often hilarious and somewhat heartbreaking story about finding friends and family in the most unexpected places.

Over 200 guests sipped cocktails on the Thompson LES rooftop in New York City after the August 17th screening.  In Los Angeles, guests of the August 24th screening headed over to Steingarten LA after a post-screening Q&A session with the director, where an intimate crowd enjoyed specialty brews and California-style German fare in the outdoors beer garden.
