An award-winning film director with an expansive archive of successful collaborations across the industry, AG Rojas creates work which reflects artistry, beauty, and introspection. Treating every medium as an art form; from commercials and branded content, to short-form, music videos and film installations, Rojas brings a soft and artistic sensibility to every approach.
Raised in Los Angeles by a Costa Rican painter and a Colombian poet, Rojas possesses an appreciation for beauty, symbolism, and repetition. He melds together visuals that surpass the spoken word, which has helped to establish him as a household name across the creative industry today.
Selected for Outstanding Directorial Achievement at the DGAs, Rojas has swept multiple awards across the US and Europe, at Cannes Lions, shots, the CLIOSs and more. He’s told timeless stories with some of the world’s most celebrated brands and artists, including Nike, Samsung, Coca Cola, Powerade and Reebok, as well as Bon Iver, Mitski, and Florence & The Machine. His genre-defining film, Just Do It: Caster Semenya, is tenacious yet poetic. Playing with time, perspective and feeling, AG Rojas tells Caster Semenya’s story in a way that truly belongs to Caster, her community, and the Nike universe.
Today, Rojas’ versatility continues to evolve; his short film Godchild, commissioned by the Smithsonian Museum, tells the story of Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis and John Coltrain, through imagery and music. After last year’s release of Pare De Sufrir, a silent featurette on love and grief, his next and fourth film, Memory Casino, is due to come out later this year.
