Monks appoints Andrea Ferlauto as ECD in Italy
A new executive creative leadership hire in Milan supports continued creative growth across EMEA, combining local craft with global AI infrastructure.
Monks, the digital-first, data-driven operating brand of S4Capital plc, have announced the appointment of Andrea Ferlauto as Executive Creative Director in Italy, effective immediately. The appointment supports Monks’ continued growth across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Ferlauto will work closely with Alessia Felicetti, Client Service Director and report directly to Giuseppe Azzone, Managing Director, Italy. He will also report to Jon Biggs, Executive Creative Director, EMEA on a dotted-line basis to ensure creative alignment and consistency across the region.
Operating within Monks’ unitary model, Ferlauto will join a connected creative leadership team spanning Milan and established hubs in the UK, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands. Further creative leadership developments are expected in Paris and Dubai. The team brings local market knowledge and creative expertise together to support enterprise brands across the region.
Ranked the #3 Creative Director Worldwide at Cannes Lions this year, Ferlauto brings more than 18 years of international experience across Milan, London, Amsterdam and New York. He has held senior creative roles at LePub, adam&eveDDB, Mother, JWT and FCB. His work includes Heineken’s globally recognised The Boring Phone and Could Have Been a Heineken, as well as major initiatives for HSBC, Adidas, Barilla, Toblerone and The Wall Street Journal. His work has received recognition from Cannes Lions, D&AD, the Clio Awards, Eurobest and the Effies.
“The defining challenge for enterprise marketers today isn't choosing between AI efficiency and human craft. It's leveraging both to build an unmistakable brand aura. In a sea of millions of communications, cultivating this aura is now absolutely crucial for brands to earn credibility and captivate their audiences. In Italy, clients demand exceptional human creativity that is powerfully amplified, not replaced, by AI. Andrea is the perfect blend of creative flair, technical expertise, and a strong focus on building and enhancing brand aura. By uniting our leading EMEA talent with global AI infrastructure, we deliver exactly that: profound cultural authority propelled by rapid execution.”, said Azzone.
The appointment supports Monks’ growth across EMEA, with Italy playing a central role in meeting demand for design-led innovation, luxury brand work and multi-market campaign execution. Monks works with enterprise clients across the region to deliver locally relevant brand storytelling.
“Our ambition is simple: to make work that people remember,” said Biggs. “That means pushing beyond good ideas to create something genuinely distinctive. We’re building a connected creative leadership team that gets involved early, challenges the thinking and raises the standard of work across the region. Andrea and our creative talent bring different perspectives and disciplines, but share the same ambition to make exceptional work for our clients.”
For clients, that creative ambition is matched by the ability to execute at enterprise scale. “The biggest challenge enterprise marketers face today isn’t choosing between AI scale and human craft; it’s getting both without sacrificing brand equity,” added Alex Oberberg, Chief Revenue Officer, EMEA at Monks. “Client leaders want a partner that can orchestrate real-time execution while maintaining strategic conviction and creative distinction. Bringing together this caliber of talent across EMEA gives our clients local cultural authority backed by global AI infrastructure.”
“Today, brands don't need more content. They need to be more recognisable, more relevant and harder to ignore, with a distinctive identity that remains unmistakable across every touchpoint. Technology gives us incredible possibilities, but it's human creativity that turns those possibilities into something meaningful. Our ambition at Monks is to create work that doesn't just reach people, but stays with them.”, adds Ferlauto.
