Lowe's create a haunted "How To" creative
Dentsu Creative’s latest and spookiest work with Lowe’s, Haunted How to Safely Operate a Chainsaw, a Halloween campaign that doesn’t have to do with decorations.
Dentsu Creative’s latest and spookiest work with Lowe’s, Haunted How to Safely Operate a Chainsaw, a Halloween campaign that doesn’t have to do with decorations….
The work was shared on Instagram late last week, and commenters are already asking for a full-on horror film.
The brand Lowe’s, known for their helpful “how to” video tutorials (in this case, how to safely operate a chainsaw), has been subject to a haunted takeover. While it seems like you are watching the beginnings of a horror film, the “how to” instructions remain exactly the same, resulting in a spooky, yet helpful reminder of how to safely operate a chain saw this season. Customers can find the tutorial on YouTube and Lowe’s Home Improvement social channels (Instagram, TikTok).

Eric Dennis, Dentsu Creative Creative Director said: "When it comes to Halloween, Lowe's has the best decorations. But they also have something that other Halloween retailers don't, the tools you need to make Halloween a success. To show this, we tapped into the scariest tool they've been selling for years: The chainsaw. But before you use a chainsaw, you have to make it safe first.
So, we created a Halloween chainsaw safety video, in the style of a horror movie. Our story follows a chainsaw wielding madman as he prepares for some Halloween scaring. We shot it all on old handheld camcorders, in the style of classic found footage horror movies."
