PRETTYBIRD UK joins its US counterpart in signing director Joy Kilpatrick to its roster, formally marking her international representation with the award-winning production company.

Kilpatrick’s work is defined by her unique ability to pair high-end commercial aesthetics with deep, human-centric storytelling especially when it comes to the organic relationship between humans and food. She joins recent signees Nono Ayuso and Baloji.

Since joining PRETTYBIRD US in 2023, Kilpatrick has helmed campaigns for iconic brands including McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Waitrose. Her commercial style is informed by her experience as a documentary filmmaker, which gives her work a grounded, "real-world" feel that resonates with modern audiences. Traces of both her experience as an agency creative and documentary filmmaker are evident in the way Kilpatrick organically incorporates the relationship between humans and food into her work, as seen in previous campaigns for Haagen-Dazs, Chipotle, Taco Bell, Pepsico, Nestlé, KFC, Taco Bell, Kraft and Nespresso.

Emily Rudge, Managing Director, PRETTYBIRD UK said: “We’re so excited to welcome Joy to the UK roster. From the moment we met her, her infectious energy and curiosity were undeniable. With such a rich and colourful background spanning art, graphic design and theatre, she brings a truly distinctive perspective to her work, one that is always rooted in deeply human stories.

Joy has this constant drive to challenge herself and push creative boundaries, which I find incredibly inspiring. I’m genuinely excited about building work together in the UK that taps into raw, authentic emotion and really connects with people.”

Kilpatrick adds:  “I’m thrilled to be joining Prettybird UK. Emily and the team have created a culture that celebrates bold, human storytelling, with a real commitment to craft and visionary work. It feels like such an exciting new chapter for me, and I’m really looking forward to evolving creatively and making work that really connects.”
