Comedy directing duo BriTANicK has signed with New York-based production company IMPOSTER for representation in the US.

Pronounced phonetically, like the Titanic, BriTANicK is a portmanteau of Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher’s names. The pair have worked under the moniker since the 2000s, building a following through sketches including Boys Night In, Academy Award Winning Movie Trailer and Sexy Pool Party.

Coming up alongside fellow NYU graduates The Lonely Island, the duo’s sketches became recurring fixtures on sites including CollegeHumor, Cracked and Funny Or Die, and have accumulated more than 85 million views.

In 2026, McElhaney and Kocher turned their attention to commercial filmmaking, seeing a natural connection between advertising and sketch comedy.

Kocher says, “We’ve been making short form comedic content since the ancient days of the internet (2008), and we think a great commercial can hit like a great sketch. It’s a short film you NEED to show your friends and watch over and over again. We want to bring all the style, creativity, and intensity from our sketch comedy background into advertising, and help create ads that work not just from a marketing standpoint but also as your new favourite viral video.”

Avtar Kay, Managing Director and EP at IMPOSTER, adds, “Brian and Nick have such a distinct comedic voice, and that’s exactly what draws us to filmmakers at IMPOSTER. From their YouTube sketches to SNL and Pizza Movie, they’ve shown that their sensibility can travel across formats while remaining unmistakably theirs. We’re excited to help bring that same originality to commercials.”

The partnership began to take shape in May, when IMPOSTER teamed up with BriTANicK on a Postmates World Cup campaign, giving the duo room to bring their absurdist comedy to the film We Get LA.

“The collaboration couldn’t have gone better,” says Kay.

BriTANicK adds, “From the moment we met the IMPOSTER team they immediately took us under their wing. During our first project not only did we feel supported, they understood the vision, and laughed at our jokes (or at least pretended to laugh, which still counts!). We appreciate anyone who can get along with our brand of insanity.”
