Partizan announce the signing of director duo Hot Icarus, named after the Greek myth of the boy who flew too close to the sun.

With backgrounds in photography, music, editing and agency-based creative direction, the pair bring a hands-on, concept-driven approach to filmmaking, combining strong visual craft with a clear sense of how ideas translate to screen.

The directing duo add a confident, idea-led voice to the Partizan roster, strengthening the company’s focus on visually bold, commercially attuned storytelling.

Their varied body of work defies definition. Hot Icarus films are characterised by their makers’ adaptability and instinct-led process. Their work shifts fluidly between tones, but a consistent thread is their wit, cultural awareness and refusal to take themselves too seriously, check out their Rochambeau vignettes, alongside a careful, composed approach to how each frame and sequence is built.

Sound and music play a central role in their thinking, with projects often shaped around soundscape and rhythm as much as image. They have a deep respect for acting as a craft that translates into nuanced, character-led work on screen, whether working across music, sport, fashion and tech.

Hot Icarus have collaborated with brands including Adidas, McLaren and Samsung. Their films balance invention and clarity, delivering work that feels contemporary while remaining grounded in the core idea.

“What stood out immediately was Hot Icarus’s conviction in their ideas and their ability to accomplish them with control. They bring energy without losing sight of the brief, which makes them a very natural fit for Partizan,” added Jenny Beckett, MD & EP.

With the signing of Hot Icarus, Partizan continues to expand its roster with directors who combine distinctive creative thinking with the ability to operate confidently at scale.
