For his latest show, iconic Chef Gordon Ramsay is going undercover and taking on America’s filthiest, failing restaurants in his biggest and most explosive rescue mission yet.

This time around, he’s equipped with a high-tech secret surveillance centre and a whistleblowing insider dishing him the dirt, all so Ramsay can do what he does best; transform and save American restaurants.

For the campaign, Versus was tasked to do the impossible: harness Gordon Ramsay. Shot over two days in studio and on location in Washington D.C, the spot draws inspiration from iconic spy movies featuring Ramsay breaking into a restaurant by wire rappelling into the kitchen to gauge its safety and preparedness.

The final promo features rats, cockroaches, an unsuspecting restaurant owner, and a sidekick bulldog to round out the cast of characters. In true spy-craft form, heads-up displays highlight food safety violations and reinforces the theme of the promo and show.

“No two shoots are the same, but this one was special: not only did we have talent in Gordon who was truly invested in capturing the best performance (and endured our ‘extras’ for multiple takes), we also had a fun and inspired concept from our partners at Fox that we had an opportunity to bring to life. The final spot represents the contributions of both our teams, which resulted in a beautiful and entertaining finished spot,” said Versus Executive Director Tony Kadillak.

In addition to producing the shoot, Versus contributed editorial, 2D and 3D animation, and VFX.
