GARTNER, the New York and L.A.-based production company, launched its second annual 'Artists in Advertising' Exhibition at their SoHo loft on Wednesday, Aug. 15th, and SourceEcreative was on hand. (Photos from the opening night reception appear below.)

The aim of the exhibition was to showcase a different side of advertising and the executives within the industry by displaying a number of their fine art efforts in the fields of photography, painting and other media.

The idea of the exhibition came from GARTNER Marketing Director Oritte Bendory, as a way to highlight and celebrate the more 'purist' – and often hidden – artistic talent within the business.  "I realized that many of my colleagues in the industry are honing their creative talent and interests outside of their day jobs," Bendory says. "Hosting a proper gallery-style exhibition enables them to celebrate that creativity."

This year's exhibition features an eclectic range of work from artists, including Saks Afridi, Global Creative Director, Merkley + Partners; Kieran Antill, Executive Creative Director, Leo Burnett; Dan Cohen, Creative Director, BBDO; Jonathan Flaum , Freelance Editor; Menno Kluin, Executive Creative Director and Head of Art, DDB; Andree Ljutica, Senior Art Director, Grey; Michael Schactner, Art Director, BBH; and Lee Trice, Senior Designer, Young & Rubicam.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of works at the exhibition was donated to 100cameras.org, a non-profit that empowers disadvantaged children to document their lives through photography and to create positive change in their own communities. A selection of photographs taken by kids participating in the program were on display at the exhibit.
