A new subsidiary from Directors Guild Helsinki has been unveiled, with the launch of CIDLLC aimed at bringing stronger storytelling and production values to short-form video.

The company has been set up in response to a social content market that, according to its founders, is saturated with high-volume but low-quality output. CIDLLC will focus on meaningful stories and cinematic craft across platforms, using tools such as AI and virtual studios alongside traditional production.

“The world is overflowing with social media agencies producing mediocre, forgettable content, Finland included,” said Juha-Matti Nieminen, CEO of Directors Guild and Chairman of CIDLLC. “These agencies often sell their services cheaply, but deliver little real value. They may understand algorithms and platform mechanics, but they lack true storytelling expertise. With CIDLLC, we want to raise the standard, combining our deep experience in emotionally resonant commercial storytelling with modern tools such as AI and virtual studios. The world doesn’t need another branded TikTok dance, it needs content that makes an impact.”

CIDLLC will operate alongside Directors Guild, which continues its commercial film production business under its existing brand. “As a production company, we must evolve continuously,” Nieminen added. “With CIDLLC, we can offer advertisers a new partner that brings depth, creativity, and proven expertise to social media content while maintaining the quality standards we’re known for.”

Kasperi Määttä has been appointed CEO of CIDLLC and is also among its owners. He highlighted Directors Guild’s history in large-scale productions as a key advantage.

“Advertising content must always evoke something real in the viewer. That’s where our expertise matters most,” said Määttä. “In a digital landscape crowded with average, disposable content, we create meaningful stories that resonate — content that truly leaves a mark.”
