London based FLIPT have bolstered their ranks by signing director Duncan Christie.

One of Christie's recent highlights is a commercial for Denny, an Irish meat brand, which charts a man’s first steps to grandparenthood. Sensitively directed by Christie it centres on a grandfather who's trying to do his bit as the rest of the family rushes around tending to the new baby. His efforts to help and see the baby are gratefully, although somewhat distractedly, received with the comment "It's grand, Dad." But he finds a way to support everyone by making a round of toasted ham and cheese sandwiches. When he finally gets to hold the baby,
he tells her "It's Granddad." The spot really showcases how much Christie really cares about his characters.

Trent Simpson is delighted by the signing saying “There is nothing better than a story well told and Duncan does this with wonderful sensitivity and beautiful visuals. We are thrilled to have him join FLIPT.”

Compassion also drives Christie’s brilliant commercial for Breast Cancer Now which won him a Clio and a Webby. The charity aims to prevent all deaths from the disease by 2050 and inspires a young girl to build a time machine in her bedroom. Taking her ailing mum by the hand we realise there isn’t a moment to lose. Mother and daughter share a tender moment as they will the time machine into life, which is beautifully realised by Christie.

Hailing from Brighton Christie's first spec commercial won 3 Kodak awards and soon after graduating he was nominated for the D&AD next director award. Since then, Christie has worked with major advertising agencies and brands. 

Outside of his commercial work Christie’s short films have screened at festivals globally. His most recent short Tom was funded through Creative England and the BFI.
