Dentsu Manchester Shiny Showcase winners announced

An audience of filmmakers, producers and agency folk flocked to the Northern city of Manchester to watch ten short films, spec ads, music videos, animations and comedies at the latest Shiny Showcase. 

The awards and events network for newly signed and freelance directors continues to shine a light on emerging talent. As always with Shiny, around 70 per cent of the diverse shortlist for this winter’s showcase was work by directors from under-represented backgrounds. Judges were all impressed by the high standard and variety of films submitted.

The winners were chosen & announced at the event by Rhiannon Lewis, Managing Partner & Exec. producer at The Gate Films and Owen Evans, Creative Lead, and Woody Woods, Senior Creative, at Dentsu Creative.

Lewis notes that she “...absolutely loved being part of the judging panel for these awards. The creativity and talent on display were just incredible. Short films have this amazing way of packing so much emotion and meaning into a really tight space, and the entries this year did that beautifully. Some of them hit me right in the feels! It’s been such a pleasure to celebrate and shine a light on these brilliant filmmakers.”

“Loved being a part of it,” said Evans, who mentioned that it was “...so inspiring to see such high quality work across the board.”

Skate Like A Lass - Juliet Klottrup
