Carbon strengthens its production team
Carbon announces Daisy Schmitt’s promotion to Head of Production, and welcomes Stephen Dierks as Producer.
Carbon is strengthening its production team on two fronts: Daisy Schmitt steps up to Head of Production, and Stephen Dierks joins as Producer.
Since joining Carbon in October 2024, Schmitt has become central to the team. As Head of Production, she’ll oversee Carbon’s production operations, supporting its producers and artists while sharpening workflows and client relationships.
Schmitt’s career spans post studios, agencies, production companies, and documentary studios. Her credits include global campaigns for MAC Cosmetics, a Super Bowl spot for Peacock’s Bel-Air, and work for Volvo, New Balance, Google, Progressive, Bose, and eBay. At Carbon, she recently produced two CG-heavy campaigns: Harley-Davidson’s Sprint 440 campaign for its latest motorcycle and VIZIO’s Hear Like You’re There campaign. She also produced the short documentary Flashpoint, winner of the Audience Award for Short Documentary at the Independent Film Festival Boston and a selection of the LA Times Short Docs series.
“I am going to keep building on what makes Carbon special,” says Schmitt. “My goal is to streamline our production processes and be a resource for our producers, artists, clients, and partners. I want to be a trusted resource for everyone, no matter how big or small their need.”
Dierks brings a decade of VFX and post-production experience from MPC, The Mill, Framestore, Untold Studios, and Banquet VFX. His recent work includes Shania Twain and Zedd’s You’re Still the One (Candy Crush) music video with Banquet VFX and McCann’s Can You Imagine campaign for the New York Lottery with Untold Studios.
Earlier credits include EA Sports video game trailers for the launch of FC 24 and 25, McCann’s Snapdragon campaign and F1 spot featuring Doriane Pin, Lindt’s Life is a Ball Super Bowl spot, and Accenture’s Robot Dog for Droga5.
“The people and the supportive community here are what drew me to Carbon,” says Dierks. “I’m looking forward to adding to that culture and bringing my VFX background to the team.” Both moves reflect Carbon’s continued investment in the people behind the work.
