Frontline19 Hopeline19

The days of clapping on doorsteps are long gone – we’re back to moaning about not getting appointments and waiting times. However, if you were on those Covid wards, holding the hands of patients taking their last breaths, the pandemic will stay imprinted on your entire being forever. This film gives us an important, and rare, view of the state of NHS workers' mental health post-pandemic. It's heart-wrenching, insightful and beautiful storytelling, sensitively approached. It certainly succeeds in jolting our minds back a year... which, as we limber up for the Croisette, is no bad thing

No Time To Die opening sequence

Not a shameless plug but a genuine appreciation for yet another stunning visual title sequence from Mr Kleinman for this legendary franchise… It's been 27 years, eight title sequences, three 007's and Daniel Kleinman is still opening Bond with a bang. It is such an honour to have been witness to the inventiveness and skill that Danny has, undaunted by the colossal expectations across the globe. Each has been iconic, from Goldeneye to Spectre, and what is so clever about the No Time To Die sequence is the subtle nods to all these stories. I might be biased, but I think it’s high time they got a shiny Lion all of their own.

Twix Camping

It's not often that a film becomes an instant classic. For me, this Harold Einstein directed spot is timeless. It could sit in any era – it would work just as well in ’96 as it does today. Not only is it genuinely funny, but the idea, the script, the set up, the reveal are so simple. Just brilliant from start to finish. Hoping the panel find their funny bone. Definitely a winner for me.

Burberry Open Spaces

This is one of those films that captures your imagination from the moment it starts. For all two minutes and 24 seconds you get lost in its world. And it stays in your mind. I just remember sitting and thinking ‘wow’ throughout, which I’m not sure I’ve done since Ikea Beds. An outstanding piece of filmmaking – not only beautifully shot, but with magical sound design and music, alongside stand-out post production. An epic feast of film that deserves all the recognition it has and will get.

Channel 4 Tokyo Olympics 2020 Super. Human

Human, brutal, beautiful storytelling with one hell of a track. There’s not one negative word I can say about the previous Superhuman campaigns, but there is a raw honesty here that hits you like a sucker punch to the stomach. That, tied in with the nostalgia of the Bugsy Malone track... what's not to love? The levels of production and the rich texture and life in this film will always leave me green with envy. Something shiny is definitely coming home in the suitcase, surely?!
