Cannes Contenders: Jeff Geheb
Jeff Geheb, Global Chief Experience Officer at VMLY&R, predicts that the Cannes winners will be reflective shifting values around inclusivity, diversity, immersion, and culture.
Beats by Dre You Love Me
This is a beautifully crafted illustration of our societal relationship to Blackness. There’s so much vulnerability and it’s impossible to watch the work without confronting that deeply important and layered question. It’s also a significant departure from traditional product-heavy advertisements.

Barilla Playlist Timer
This work is an innovative, useful and entertaining way for consumers to interact with the products—especially at a time when we were all stuck inside. Utilizing integrations with ubiquitous streaming platforms like Spotify, you can clearly see the steps brands are taking in order to play a bigger role in culture.
Starbucks I Am
It’s a shame to see so much “pride-washing” in work these days. So I’m so proud of our agency, VMLY&R, to be behind such powerful and life-changing work for the transgender and non-binary communities. Self-identity and visibility are important issues, and now more than ever we see brands embracing their role as change agents, allies, and champions standing against discrimination.
Degree Inclusive Deodorant
Inclusive design has been an important issue that’s steadily grown in visibility over the last decade—but we’re witnessing a real evolution in the role of inclusive design within a broader marketing context. More than 60 million people in the U.S. live with a disability and it’s powerful to finally see brands like Degree taking the lead on serving all of their consumers.
