Nike Nike Juku
Aside from being such a fun watch from start to finish, especially with a great cast from [Japanese girl group] ATARASHII GAKKO!, Yuto Horigome, Yuzuho Shiokoshi, Riehata and Yuriyan Retriever, what was great about this campaign was the insight. Nike Juku touched upon how younger generations' (students) exercise time has decreased; partly because of the pandemic, but also as a result of stress in school. This campaign proposed an exciting exercised-filled study break to refresh their minds and bodies. And with the new song “WOO! GO!” you can’t help but want to get up and dance.

Head & Shoulders The Chase
Without the “h&s present" at the beginning I probably wouldn’t have suspected in the first few seconds that this would be a Head & Shoulders ad. Ando the Spy narrowly escapes Takashi the Detective through a worldwide chase, learning that his trail of dandruff was his demise. An undercover agent passes him a bottle of h&s, and BAM! Ando the Spy is nowhere to be found.

Boss Coffee The Passion Never Stops
Targeting young filmmakers of Japan, the craft in this made for cheeky storytelling by panning through the ages, suspended in time. Pushing their Blue Impact product, they created a line of blue dominoes going through time. Quite literally, they showed how the domino effect of past filmmakers makes a (blue) impact on the creators of today–and how the passion never stops.

Pocari Sweat I Don’t Need Wings
Time and time again Pocari Sweat sends you into a dream-like adventure. Just as the rain stops, a young girl notices a huge cloud while this quirky arcade-midi beat plays launching her into the clouds themselves. And, as always, it ends with a glimpse of friendship. Lovely and strange all at once.
