The Work, the Conversation and the STATE OF TASTE

More than a competition, this year's programme continued to bring the industry together around some of the biggest questions facing commercial filmmaking. From thinking about the impact of AI and changing production models to the role of taste and creative judgement in an increasingly automated world. Berlin Commercial is about creating the conditions for the creative community to come together, be challenged, get inspired and grow.

At the centre of it was STATE OF TASTE, a live panel exploring why taste may be one of the most valuable creative advantages left in an industry increasingly shaped by algorithms and artificial intelligence. Bringing together knowledge from across the creative landscape, including Lucy Thorpe (Head of Branded Content Editorial, Highsnobiety), Franziska Brunner (Global Creative Director, antoni_), Kopeto (photographer and visual storyteller), Curro Piqueras Parra (Chief Creative Officer, DUDE London) and Bianca Redgrave (Managing Director, Studio Private), hosted by Shawn Thomson (Business Partner, YKONE). The programme also featured PLAYBACK: MAKING THE MODERN-DAY MUSIC VIDEO, a headline talk presented with DENIM and BWGTBLD, featuring Christian Tyler, Cameron Frengopoulos, Glenn Michael, Alex Acy and Shane Patrick.

Connections are crucial within this creative landscape and the industry needs to talk and network, which is exactly what Berlin Commercial facilitated.
