Baxter Dury announces the third track Schadenfreude from forthcoming studio album Allbarone which will be released on Heavenly Recordings on September 12th 2025.

Over the top of a towering European rhythm track that pulses as it keeps rising to ecstatic heights, Baxter Dury brilliantly recalls finding a streak of bitter humour in the misfortune of others. A brilliant and uplifting celebration of someone else's failures.

Dury on Schadenfreude: "I loved making Schadenfreude at Paul Epworth's palatial studio. As soon as we had the backing track, it remained on loop played through these giant bespoke speakers that looked like Cocaine Daleks. It has this optimistic pulsating French dance feel compromised by this slightly over honest fragile man lyric. Schadenfreude."

The track is accompanied by a music video directed by Gareth Bowen and produced by London-based studio Blinkink.

Bowen adds: “I loved the tune. It instantly felt really cinematic, like something straight out of a pulp ‘80s or ‘90s movie the first time I heard it. I did have to Google what schadenfreude meant, but the meaning, people being weirdly thrilled when things go wrong for someone else, spoke to me. It also felt perfect for building a twisted little narrative that’s atmospheric, joyful, comedic and spooky too.”
