Having garnered layers of laughs with SNL digital shorts, standup specials, and sketches over the years, Kelly Lyon, ACE will continue to dig into her comedy chops, capturing a new creative avenue for the Arts Academy team.

Lyon explains, “I’d been happily freelancing since 2009 and had no intention of signing with a post house. When I heard that Peter and Tommy were starting their own company, however, I was immediately intrigued. These men not only embody incredible talent, but they also share a passion for creative storytelling and bring a unique vision to every project. With each new edit, Peter and Tommy are constantly elevating the craft of editing into a true art form. I am so thrilled to join the Arts Academy roster.”

About Lyon’s arrival to the team, partner Tommy Harden said, “I’ve been such a huge fan of Kelly for over a decade – I couldn’t be more thrilled that she’s joining Arts Academy! She’s not only a brilliant editor who brings optimism and energy to every project, but she’s also a lovely human being I feel fortunate to have as a friend.”

Lyon edited many of your favourite parody commercials, digital shorts, and music videos for NBC’s Saturday Night Live, and was nominated for an Eddie Award by the American Cinema Editors for her work on the SNL at Home episodes during the 2020 pandemic. She edited The Damn Michael Che for HBO Max, and edited the montage of political sketches for the Emmy Award winning SNL 40th Anniversary Special. She has also edited for IFC’s Portlandia and Cartoon Network’s The Shivering Truth.

Lyon’s most recent work includes Emmy winning special John Mulaney Kid Gorgeous at Radio City, Emmy nominated Amy Schumer Growing, and WGA nominated Yearly Departed.

Lyon’s breadth of brands and clients include Netflix, Saturday Night Live, Nike, Amazon Prime Video, HBO, Wieden + Kennedy, Target, Intel, Heineken, KFC and more. She will continue to pursue these and other long form endeavours while welcoming commercial work. She’s also versed in music videos and documentaries.
