Global Account Lead at AMV BBDO, Carmen Vasile will take on the role of Managing Director at the London agency. She will report to CEO Sam Hawkey.

Vasile's promotion completes a series of senior appointments in AMV's leadership team as Hawkey, who took the reins as CEO in November last year, revamps the agency at pace after a strong start to the year - the agency extended its Meta Portal duties to become global lead agency as well as added golfing app Hole19 to the client list.

In January, ECDs Nick Hulley and Nadja Lossgott were promoted to Chief Creative Officers.

Michael Pring, Deputy Chairman and Chief Marketing Officer, now steps into the new role of Chief Operating Officer. Pring, who also acted as interim CEO for 6 months last year, will be responsible for operations across all agency departments to ensure it has the strongest foundations for growth. He has been at AMV for ten years and will also continue to lead the network’s global Diageo (Guinness) and PepsiCo Beverages relationships alongside a number of local clients.

Vasile started her career at Graffiti BBDO, in Romania, and joined AMV in 2007, where she has become one of the most valued talents leading Mars Petcare globally. Under Carmen's leadership, Mars Petcare, in partnership with BBDO, has transformed its creative work across over 70 markets, bringing refreshed vision, unparalleled ambition and an unwavering belief in the power of creativity to create mutual value. Recently, she's also taken on leadership of the agency’s Essity account. She will continue to lead the Mars and Essity relationships. In 2020, Vasile was recognized by Campaign Magazine as EMEA Account Lead of The Year.

As the agency’s Managing Director, Vasile will have an unwavering focus on AMV clients and work to make sure the best of the agency shows up to them today and in the future.

AMV BBDO also achieved an industry first last year by winning the treble: Global Agency of the Year at Cannes Lions, D&AD and The One Show. At the end of the year, AMV was also named Agency of the Year at Campaign Big Awards and Eurobest.
