Comedy writer and director Graham Linehan has signed to new London-based production company Snapper Films.

Best known for creating hit TV shows including Father Ted, Big Train, Black Books, The IT Crowd, The Walshes, Count Arthur Strong and Motherland, Linehan joins together with his producer, Brock Van den Bogaerde.

"After weeks of relentless pressure from Helen, I finally joined Snapper to shut her up! I am a fisherman at heart happily wading against the current," says Van den Bogaerde. "I’ve no doubt her vision and rock solid commitment will lead the way to deep pools, exciting waters. And no mozzies…"

"I’m glad I talked Graham into submission," adds Snapper founder Helen Hadfield. "Graham is a comedy genius and I absolutely love his work and Brock is a brilliant producer who knows exactly how to bring out the best in the work. We feel very fortunate. It’s a real coup!"
