Most people bring popcorn or pick n' mix sweets to scoff in the cinema, but for die-hard burger fans, lasting the length of a movie without a Burger King in hand is just unimaginable.

Unfortunately as of March 25, a new law was passed in Peru, banning moviegoers from bringing any food not bought on the premises into the screening room. Although it was later amended so that filmgoers could bring in their own food so long as it was similar to what was sold on site, this still made smuggling burgers into the cinema difficult.

Thankfully McCann Lima came up with a plan to work around this restriction.

By teaming up with Burger King Peru, the agency unveiled King Popcorn, a campaign to give its loyal burger lovers a chance to enjoy their meal while watching the film, without compromising.

Customers could order a Whopper and French fries and then have them carefully packaged within a large popcorn box, disguising them behind the more traditional cinema snack.

"The King Popcorn, in fact, has only a lid with a small amount of popcorn inside and then a hidden Whopper and fries," explains agency CCO Christian Caldwell. "This allows consumers to enter the cinema and enjoy their favorite Burger King meal."

Although some cinema clerks cottoned onto the stunt, many Burger King customers got away with it and got to eat their burgers in peace while watching the big screen. Power to the people!
