Dixie Raises Stakes by Raising Steaks

Think you can manage a cool head when the stakes are raised? Droga5 has created the ultimate stress-inducing test to prove the sturdiness of Dixie’s paper plates.

The stunt, which took place in Kansas City, saw tightrope-walking waiters literally raising steaks 40 feet high to diners sat, waiting for their food to arrive atop an elevated platform.

With food provided from local BBQ restaurant, Q39, waiters were challenged to serve 20 plates in just 40 minutes - to guarantee that the plates can withstand even the most stressful servings.

American actor Adam Richman hosted the stunt, which sent diner’s (and the audience’s) pulses racing as they watched to see whether the waiters would complete the task.

The activation is the finale in Dixie’s Stress Tested Campaign, in which the plates’ strength were continuously put to the test in creative ways - such as another iteration where a professional bull rider held onto a plate of steak while riding a bucking rodeo (below).
