Leo Burnett answers the question on everyone’s mind: if aliens do exist, how similar will their lives be to ours?

Following the discovery of new planet, LHS 1140b last month, which suggests similar conditions to our planet, the agency questioned what lessons we could share with our new neighbours. And of course, the answer involved beer.

Leo Burnett Mexico devised a time travelling message to teach potential inhabitants how to brew their own Coronas… so we might one day be able to share one together.

The instructive message (attached below) has been sent to planet LHS 1140B through a special transmitter using audio frequency, meaning it will be able to travel 40 light years through space until it arrives.

“Hello, is there anybody listening? We suppose you are there because scientists on Earth say there is a high chance there is life on your planet.

We are sending this message from Mexico just to make sure that if you have life, you also need to have beer. So, we are going to tell you how to make your own Corona. You'll see, it will be something out of your world. First, you'll need a master. Not a master of the universe; A brew master.

Afterwards, get barley seeds and process them naturally for seven years. Sounds like a long time but this message took forty years to get to you, seven is nothing in comparison.

You will need to double ferment the brew. It's twice the work but it's worth it.

Once the liquid becomes golden, it's perfectly done. Now you need to display it. Make sure to pour it into transparent bottles. Hand-made bottles are the best, or... Tentacle-made bottles or fin-made or whatever you have in your planet.

Now you know how to make a Corona beer, enjoy it cold on a beach - if you have beaches - or invite your friends to a bar and enjoy it. Anywhere you prefer is fine."

The campaign also encourages Mexicans to send in their own messages about enjoying Corona, which will also be sent with the transmitter, to convince new life that they should take this initiative on board.
