The UK’s Royal Mail has announced that it is to temporarily reduce the price of sending small parcels this Christmas in a move that will see private and small businesses benefit.

The discount will see the price for the firm’s standard small delivery frozen and items previously classed as medium parcels reclassified as small from 20 October until 18 January 2015.

To welcome the announcement, we’ve compiled a My shots playlist with a delivery theme.

Pass the parcel

Royal Mail will be gearing up for its busiest time as we approach Christmas and this spot from agency Beta London, set to a rendition of The Beatles’ All You Need is Love, puts its operation into perspective by presenting the statement that it delivers a billion parcels a year. Featuring the people who make it happen on a daily basis as they deliver to the public on the streets of London, the ad is directed by Rob Sanders with post production from Framestore.

Business boom

Shifting the focus from people to props is a Johnny Green spot for the UK postal service company. Created by Simon Rice and Diane Leaver the ad declares Royal Mail’s support for growing businesses and echoes this week’s announcement to reduce postage fees for professional firms. With cool post production completed at Glassworks London, the spot sees various workspaces come to life and the ad is themed on burgeoning business.

Box-fresh

Output is fuelled by demand and this IBM spot creatively combines ideas about data, distribution and trends within a cardboard box and clever animation from Psyop. The ad promotes the idea of turning online business into physical product and service through Ogilvy & Mather New York and the piece was produced through Smuggler.

Fast and effective

Perhaps the most entertaining on our My shots playlist is an ad for Fed Ex directed by Joe Sedelmaier. Fittingly titled Fast Parcel, the commercial takes us into the world of a business executive and follows part of his working life as he makes decisions, meetings, and calls across the world to get things done. Set at an unbelievably quick pace, the commercial is designed to communicate the fast-moving world of business and Fed Ex’s effective service to cater.

People power

Creative agency Etcetera DDB launched a new campaign for another worldwide courier brand last week when its new positioning for TNT surfaced. Featuring the company’s real-life employee Daan Daams, the work features a lead TVC directed by PostPanic Amsterdam’s Mischa Rozema and sees a human track erected to promote the idea of The People Network.
