When one of the biggest porn sharing-websites on the internet, PornHub, launched a global crowd-sourced competition to inspire the company’s first advertising campaign, director Max Sherman fancied his luck and entered for a bit of fun. The next thing he knew, he’d landed himself in line with a chance to be the brand’s new creative director.

Sherman’s film submission introduces a young teen who is battling with an unreliable internet connection and the amusing campaign was shot with the brand’s tongue-in-cheek tone in mind.

“An internet connection is the one thing you need to get on PornHub,” explains Sherman. “More generally, a "connection" is something that everyone needs, be that person to person, or hand to mouse. This inspired my film: a modern tragedy of a young man pining for the true love of his life.”

The director, one of the newest talents at OPC, is now one of 15 finalists with a chance of bagging the creative role with the website. And to him, he’s just another consumer:

“I jumped at the opportunity to create an ad for the biggest porn site in the world. I'm one of millions who frequent PornHub.com, so I wanted to create a film that would resonate with its viewers,” he says.

“There's a lot of mystery behind what it actually means to be the "creative director" of PornHub, but I can't wait to find out.”
